Daniel Rigmaiden

Daniel is an independent journalist and guest author for FDJ News. He covers technology, artificial intelligence, politics, government, and the police state. He is also the founder of FDJ News, est. 2014.

Daniel began studying electronic surveillance techniques in 2008. Since that time, he has served as a consultant on government surveillance technology to defense attorneys, journalists, and government transparency advocates. He has been a defense expert in both state and federal criminal cases on cell phone surveillance matters. He also has more than two decades of information security and operational security experience.

As a journalist, Daniel successfully litigated his own Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests against the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Executive Office for United States Attorneys (EOUSA) in federal court. The FOIA requests and lawsuit sought information on secret government cell phone tracking technology. In response to his legal arguments, the FBI and EOUSA produced more documents and removed redactions from previously disclosed documents.
